The most important thing is to keep your Rally ROD clean. It will give you years of pleasure if you just take a few minutes to properly care for it.

We suggest that you never immerse your Rally ROD in water, or any other liquid for that matter. The Rally ROD core is not plastic as our goal was to make a toy that is as environmentally sensitive as possible. We did this by making the Rally ROD core out of bio-degradable material.

Therefore, if your Rally ROD is thoroughly soaked it will likely absorb the water, which will likely cause it to swell. This in turn will increase its weight. Further, it could make your Rally ROD more unwieldy due to the greater mass. All is not lost, so fear not. If your Rally ROD does get soaked, let it air dry. The water will evaporate and the Rally ROD should return to its original lighter weight state. To properly clean your Rally ROD, you need to separately clean each the core and the celebratory flags. The core/shaft contains the comfort grip and the label. The comfort grip and label are not likely to get too dirty so all you need to do is gently wipe them down with a damp cloth.

The ding-a-lings also do not require much cleaning but the celebratory flags may, depending upon where your Rally ROD has been, for example, a muddy playing field - Little League, etc. For best results when cleaning we have determined that the following works best. While holding your Rally ROD at the comfort grip dangle your Rally ROD so that the celebratory flags loosely hang towards the ground. You then can easily dip the flags into cold water and mild detergent. Swish them around in the water for as long as needed and then rinse the flags in fresh cold water with no detergent.

Now at this point in the cleaning process the celebratory flags will be saturated with water such that if you were to shake Your Rally ROD while around others, they will all get sprayed. Dogs involuntarily do this after they get a bath or climb out of the lake, and everyone who is in the vicinity gets wet. You know better, so please be thoughtful of others.

Instead with one hand tightly holding Your Rally ROD around the comfort grip, grasp the celebratory flags at the base near the ding-a-lings with your other hands. Then gently squeeze the flags by slowly sliding and working your hand towards the tips of the flags. Repeat as needed until no more water comes off the flags. A short time of air drying should finish the job for you. Your Rally ROD is now clean and ready to come with you to your next sporting event, rally, etc.

We have also found from Rally ROD owners that by using a water repellent product on the celebratory flags the side benefit is that your Rally ROD may stay cleaner, especially when kept in The Rally ROD Sack (Coming Soon). Taking the time to follow these simple steps will ensure many years of good performance from your Rally ROD.

As always if you have any suggestions, please feel free to contact us by "Clicking Here". The Rally ROD Sack is in production and it will protect your Rally ROD just as a sheath does for a sword. This will come in handy when you are in unfamiliar places, uncharted waters. An uncontaminated, clean Rally ROD is going to be more widely enjoyed and you will not be embarrassed bringing it out to show others.

Although manufacturing standards are uniformly maintained, every Rally ROD is unique because the cuts in the celebratory flags are done by hand. Take care of your Rally ROD and it will give you years of joy.
